Past and present guests of our Cape May Inn know that we have an on-going waffle eating contest. You never know when the reigning Waffle King will be usurped. Peter Burkhart became our current King in October 2008 when he polished off 30 waffles; how long can his reign endure?

We are thrilled to announce that for the first time in 18 years we have a Queen! December 13, a tiny lady – fresh in from her morning run – looked at our buffet waffle platter and said, “no problem!” Lo and behold, she ate 12, was crowned Queen to great applause, and proceeded to eat 4 more!

Our reigning Waffle Queen at 16 waffles is Christine Crooke! Long live Queen Christine!
