Eat your way through Cape May

Here at our Cape May NJ Bed and Breakfast we are thrilled about the upcoming Restaurant Week in Cape May. From May 31 until June 7, more than 20 restaurants will be offering three-course meals of appetizer, entree and dessert for a fixed price; First Tier Restaurants will charge $35.09 for the meal while Second Tier Restaurants will charge $22.09.

This is a great opportunity to dine where you have never dined before, or to have a new experience at a favorite place. We at this Cape May b and b can’t wait to experience our local restaurants this way, and we look forward to comparing notes with our guests over breakfast. Did you like the New Orleans cuisine at 401 Bank Street Restaurant, which some consider to be the finest place to eat in Southern New Jersey? What did you think about the simple American fare at the Blue Pig Tavern? Did you BYOB to Henry’s on the Beach and feast on soup and homemade biscuits? Or is The Cape Orient Asian Restaurant more to your taste? It’s to be a Cape May Feeding Frenzy!

We hope you’ll joint us here at John f. Craig house Cape May at some point from May 31 to June 7, to join in this great event and loosen your waste bands with us.

Jazz in Cape May

Monday, April 13th, 2009

This coming weekend will be an exciting one for jazz aficionados. The 31st Cape May Jazz Festival is underway April 17 – 19 at several venues around town. Friday night Steve Butler opens with a tribute to the legendary Billy Eckstine, or Mr. B. He will be joined by special guest Sabrina Carten, who will pay tribute to Sarah Vaughn. The evening promises to showcase the big band music of the 4os and 50s. Other highlights this weekend will be the Saturday Jams, with a wide variety of musicians, the Grammy Award winning James Cotton Blues Band, and Cuban percussionist Mayra Casales and her all female Latin Jazz Ensemble. Stick around until Sunday afternoon and witness local talent with the Little Jazz Giants, Camden Public School Instrumental Music Students aged 11 to 16.

Advance tickets are available for purchase at the Cape May Jazz Festival website. Stay at John F. Craig House, our premier Cape May Bed and Breakfast, while you partake in this fantastic festival, for an unforgettable weekend.
