The 2011 Cape May Jazz Festival

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

The 35th Annual Cape May Jazz Festival
April 8 – 10, 2011

The Cape May Jazz Festival is really quite extraordinary. It brings a great variety of outstanding jazz musicians to a picturesque seacoast town. Jazz fans easily make the drive from New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and northern New Jersey to listen to some of their favorite musicians in an idyllic setting; many stay in our welcoming Cape May Bed and Breakfast, the John F. Craig House.

Unlike many music festivals in large cities, the Cape May Jazz Festival is a relaxing and stress-free experience. Given the location of our Bed and Breakfast Cape May, it’s possible for our guests to walk to many of the festival venues. We also promise to feed you a delicious breakfast if you sleep in after a late night.

  • Kevin Eubanks
  • Poncho Sanchez
  • Point Blank with Gerald Chavis

Get comfortable at one venue and listen to whomever is on stage, or hop in and out of several venues over the course of an afternoon or evening. The close proximity of the venues makes wandering between them a cinch.

Fall Jazz Festival in Cape May

Monday, October 25th, 2010

The 34th Annual Cape May Jazz Festival takes place in a few weeks, November 12 – 14, 2010. We don’t have a full house yet at our Cape May bed and breakfast, so if you’re a lover of jazz, we’d love to have you here. Don’t worry, we’ll let you in even if you don’t love jazz. Maybe.

Javon Jackson to perform at the Cape May Jazz Festival.

It looks like the festival will be as good as ever, what with The Yellowjackets headlining on Friday night and Javon Jackson with Les McCann headlining Saturday night. These shows will be at Our Lady Star of the Sea Auditorium at the Washington Street Mall, just a few blocks from our bed and breakfast Cape May.

Other performers include Taeko Fukoa, the Terrell Stafford Quintet, and the Jonny Hirsch Blues Band. Throw in a Ladies Night out and a few jam sessions, and voila! A Jazz Festival. The event takes place at several venues in town, all in the heart of historic downtown Cape May, walking distance from our Cape May inn.

Additional information is available at the Cape May Jazz Festival website.

Cape May Jazz Festival

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

We still have a couple of openings at our Cape May bed and breakfast for the upcoming Jazz Festival. This is a wonderful event that traditionally kicks off the high season in our New Jersey coastal town.

Shemekia Copeland

The Jazz Festival opens Friday April 16, 2010 with Spiro Gyra. They know how to blend funk, instrumental pop, blues, Latin, and straight jazz like no one else. Shemekia Copeland unleashes her powerful “blast-furnace” voice in two performances on Saturday night.

Tim Warfield, Mississippi Hat, Chuchito Valdes, B.B. Lenz, the Shook Russo Quartet and Charles Walker are a few of the more than 30 artists participating in the Cape May Jazz Festival April 16 – 18, 2010. If you love jazz, you’ll love this festival.

We welcome jazz aficionados to our bed and breakfast Cape May. We’ll feed you well in the morning, ply you with relaxing conversation and refreshments before you head out for the evening shows, and recommend good places to dine.

See you soon!
