Veterans Day in Cape May

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

Veterans Day seems a fitting time for guests of our bed and breakfast Cape May NJ to take a World War II Trolley Tour through our town.

The tour lasts two hours. As you travel about town in a historic trolley, learn how the Cape May area was impacted by the war. You’ll pass coastal fortifications at Cape May Point and tour the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum.

The World War II Trolley Tour takes place on Saturday, November 13, 2010, at 12:30 pm. That gives guests of our bed and breakfast Cape May plenty of time to sleep in, eat a gourmet breakfast, walk along the beach, and grab lunch before the tour. Tickets are available at World War II Trolley Tour.

If you can’t make the World War II Trolley Tour this weekend, there are many other trolley rides throughout the year. Holiday Lights Trolley Rides through Cape May’s Historic District start November 19, 2010, and run through January 1, 2011. Please visit Holiday Lights for more information.

NJ Film Festival in Cape May

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

We may be caught up in the swirl of Victorian Week here at our bed and breakfast Cape May, but we still have an eye on the future. That future includes the 10th Annual Cape May NJ State Film Festival, October 22 – 24, 2010.

The film festival arrives at a perfect time, for the end of October is when glorious fall weather starts to think about winter. Days are a bit more blustery, and while it is a refreshing time to walk the beaches and stroll through town, the prospect of spending hours inside a cozy theater is appealing.

Vincent Pastore will attend the NJ State Film Festival in Cape May.

The Cape May Film Festival is dedicated to showcasing creative, groundbreaking and challenging film and video works by NJ filmmakers. Attendees can look forward to screenings of short films, full-length features, documentaries, and retrospectives. In addition, there will be opportunities to meet actors, producers, screenwriters, directors, and even composers of film scores.

Films include Bowling Blind, based on the lives of blind bowlers, Wake, the NJ premiere of a film about loss and honor, and Alienated, a film about mob encounters of a different kind starring Vincent Pastore. Guests include Vincent Pastore, best known for his work in The Sopranos, and Greg Henry, an independent filmmaker who has worked with Bill Moyers on NOW and produced work for the History Channel, PBS, and Discovery, among others.

The NJ Film Festival is always an exciting time for cinephile guests of our Cape May bed and breakfast, and for us; we experience the festival vicariously during breakfast and Afternoon Tea.

Additional information about the Cape May NJ State Film Festival is available at their website.

Hereford Inlet Lighthouse

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Cape May Lighthouse is a beautiful building, and it is close to our bed and breakfast Cape May. Yet is is not the only lighthouse around here. Hereford Inlet Lighthouse is also close to our inn – less than fifteen miles away – and well worth a visit. You could even bike there, if you were so inclined. (more…)
