About the John F. Craig House
Built in 1866, the Craig House Bed and Breakfast is a Victorian inn in New Jersey with a casual and relaxing atmosphere. During your stay with us, enjoy an award winning breakfast, afternoon refreshments and all the amenities you expect -
and more!
The John F. Craig House Bed and Breakfast offers Cape May Lodging for your next New Jersey vacation or romantic weekend getaway. All guestrooms at this historic Victorian bed and breakfast have beautiful antique furnishings but with the comfort and convenience today's traveler (or Chip) expects. At the same time there is whimsy and fun from our collections, which are displayed throughout this unique Cape May, New Jersey Bed and Breakfast Inn. Actually we have designed our Cape May Bed and Breakfast around what Chip would like - so men love our Cape May Lodging.
The John F. Craig House is actually two houses under one roof! A pre 1850's house was moved here and attached, when the "new" 1866 house was built. Rooms 1, 2 and 3 are charming examples of this early Cape May construction with lower ceilings (and floors not always level). In the 1866 house, the 3rd floor rooms 7 and 8 are located in the dormers and are more casual reflecting the fifty years the Craig family enjoyed this "summer cottage."

Breakfast and "tea time"

Breakfast and "tea time" at the John F. Craig House, are some of the best times at the inn. Guests accuse us of using the fragrances of early morning as their wake-up call, but there is never a rush. First coffee is ready by 7:30 and then we serve a buffet breakfast between 8:30 and 10. You can either join other guests in the dining room or take a tray to the porch. Our guests always enjoy gathering for afternoon "tea time" refreshments around 5.
Each morning we welcome guests the tasty challenge of beating the current "Waffle King" off his throne. It's our fun and filling tradition of who can eat the most waffles. Our current King is Peter Burkhart, he ate 30 waffles on Octo. 18th. Peter had been a "Waffle Queen" (Second Place) in 2004 when he threw in the napkin at 16 waffles, he didn't give up this time! Visit our Snapshots of previous Waffle King Challengers.
